<p>The ability to extract zip files is built into newer versions of Windows.</p>
<ol>
<li><b>Right-click the zip file that you want to extract.</b></li>
<li><b>Select &quot;Extract All&#8230;&quot;</b><br />This will open the Extraction Wizard.</li>
<li><b>Select &quot;Next&quot;</b><br />This will take you to the &quot;Select a Destination&quot; page.</li>
<li><b>See where the files will be extracted to</b><br />The default for WordPress themes and plugins is typically a new directory with the same name as the zip file in the same directory that the zip file is in.</li>
<li><b>Select &quot;Next&quot;</b><br />The files will start being extracted.<br />When they finish, you will see the &quot;Extraction Complete&quot; window.</li>
<li><b>Select &quot;Finish&quot; to close the wizard.</b><br />If you don&#8217;t want the extracted files displayed in a new window, uncheck the &quot;Show extracted files&quot; box before selecting Finish.</li>
